Epstein Associates Face Scrutiny Over Missing Safe Contents
Following the FBI’s July 2019 raid of Epstein’s New York mansion, documents show that Epstein’s safe, filled with diamonds, cash, and hard drives, was emptied and taken to Epstein’s accountant, Richard Kahn, before the FBI could return to Epstein’s residence with a valid warrant. Today, Kahn and Epstein’s longtime lawyer, Darren Indyke, serve as co-executors of Epstein’s estate, responsible for overseeing hundreds of millions of dollars and documents, many of which have now been subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee. Despite both men’s claims of innocence, neither has been charged, although court documents filed in a settled case in the U.S. Virgin Islands accuse them of handling over 140 bank accounts for Epstein, allowing Epstein to pay victims and recruiters of sex trafficking through shell companies. There has been much speculation about how much both men knew about Epstein’s sex trafficking “enterprise” and how both men benefited to the tune of millions of dollars in fees and loans while serving as signatories to almost all of Epstein’s financial accounts.
